Job summary

University of South Carolina Beaufort (USCB) in Beaufort, SC, is seeking a proactive Human Resources Coordinator to join our growing HR team. You will support recruitment, onboarding, payroll, and employee relations while helping ensure policy compliance and excellent service to faculty and staff.

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, you will coordinate postings, assist with orientation, maintain confidential records, and help with salary administration and classification reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate recruitment and hiring activities using the PeopleAdmin applicant tracking system.
  • Create job postings, prepare offer letters, and manage recruitment workflows for TFAC positions.
  • Guide hiring managers, applicants, and departments through the hiring process while ensuring timelines are met.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding employment opportunities, application status, and University hiring procedures.
  • Coordinate pre-employment activities including background screenings, I-9 verification, onboarding documentation, and new employee processing.
  • Assist with New Employee and Faculty Orientation programs to create an engaging experience for new hires.
  • Coordinate employee offboarding activities, including separation processing and exit meetings.
  • Support payroll, Time & Labor, EPMS performance management, and other HR transactional functions.
  • Assist with position classification reviews and salary administration in coordination with Classification and Compensation.
  • Assist departments with position descriptions for new positions, vacancies, reorganizations, and reclassifications.
  • Review salary recommendations to ensure internal equity and policy compliance.

What You’ll Do

  • Coordinate pre-employment activities including background screenings, I-9 employment verification, onboarding documentation, and new employee processing.
  • Assist with New Employee and Faculty Orientation programs, helping create an engaging and welcoming experience for new hires.
  • Coordinate employee offboarding activities, including separation processing, exit meetings, and required documentation.
  • Support payroll, Time & Labor, EPMS performance management, and other HR transactional functions.

  • Participate in University committees, campus initiatives, and special projects that support institutional excellence.
