In addition, our Palmetto College campuses in Salkehatchie, Union, Lancaster and Sumter enable students to earn associate or bachelor's degrees through a combination of in-person, online or blended learning. All of our system institutions place strong emphasis on service — helping to build healthier, more educated communities in South Carolina and beyond.
Join the McCausland College of Arts & Sciences as a Human Resources Manager and play a key role in supporting the people who advance our teaching, research, and service mission. Working closely with the Associate Director and Director of Human Resources and Faculty Affairs, you will help guide HR operations, support faculty and staff throughout their employment, and serve as a trusted resource for assigned academic and administrative units. As the College HR Contact for assigned units, you will coordinate hiring and reappointment processes for FTE, research grant, and time-limited positions, as well as adjunct faculty and temporary staff. You will partner with unit HR contacts to navigate HR procedures, provide guidance on Summer ECOM processes, and coordinate College-level approvals. Responsibilities include preparing offer and reappointment letters, researching and processing HR actions, maintaining accurate records and tracking spreadsheets, and reviewing documentation for submission to the appropriate University offices. You will also assist College HR leadership with reviewing and approving position descriptions, job requisitions, new hire actions, and other personnel transactions. In coordination with the Director, you will support faculty and department staff through key faculty review milestones, including third-year review, tenure and promotion, and post-tenure review. This role offers the opportunity to build strong partnerships across the College, solve problems, and make complex processes easier to navigate. Through responsive service, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach, you will contribute to effective HR operations and the College's continued success while supporting additional responsibilities as assigned.
