Job summary

PENN Entertainment is seeking an HR support professional to assist with employment processes, events, and record retention at our Illinois location. You will help maintain confidential files, coordinate onboarding, and ensure smooth HR operations for a fast-paced team.

You will work with HR systems such as iCims, UKG and Dayforce, demonstrate strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills, and maintain confidentiality while supporting a positive work environment.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college.
  • Two years of HR experience or equivalent professional office background.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Ability to learn HR software such as iCims, UKG and Dayforce.
  • Flexible schedule and strong multi-tasking ability.
  • Professional oral and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and compliance with laws.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in all HR areas, including employment, events and record retention.
  • Maintain office, front counter and kiosks in neat condition and well stocked.
  • Create and maintain confidential employee files and restrict access accordingly.
  • Manage HR databases and enter disciplinary actions, trainings and terminations.
  • Coordinate candidate screening and interview scheduling for HR and hiring managers.
  • Support onboarding and new hire orientation processes.

Responsibilities
  • Provides assistance in all areas of HR, including employment, communication, team member events and record retention.
  • Maintains general office, front counter, lobby area and TDR kiosks ensuring that they are neat/clean, orderly and well stocked.
  • Creates and maintains confidential employee files including personnel files, i-9s, drug testing, medical records, and benefit documents; controls confidential file access to only authorized personnel.
  • Maintains employment databases including HRiS back-office and self-service sites. Enters into the system employee disciplinary actions, training classes, terminations, and other status changes.
  • Handles team member questions/requests and escape issues as appropriate to ensure prompt resolution.
  • Sources and screens candidates to fill existing and future hourly job openings. This process includes, but is not limited, to, reviewing resumes and applications to ensure job qualifications are met, and coordinating interview schedules for HR and hiring managers.
  • Assists in coordinating and facilitating on-boarding processes and orientation for new employees.
  • Assists in developing and maintaining property communication, to include employee self service portal, back-of-house hallways; maintaining updated required federal, state and local posters, and property communications.
  • Must maintain an upbeat & positive attitude as well as a professional, courteous and friendly demeanor with all Team Members, applicants and guests.
  • Must promote and maintain all steps of the Customer Service program with each patron and employee you come in contact with.
  • Complies with company policies, all state and federal regulations, and internal controls as relates to this position.
  • Maintains, tracks, and audits HR documents including Compliance training, policy acknowledgements, and company-wide memos/notifications.
  • Provides verification of employment, per policy.
  • Assists with employee activities, as needed.
Requirements
  • Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college, two years’ experience in Human Resources, or professional office environment, or a combination of education and/or experience.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Must have the ability to learn software programs such as iCims (applicant tracking system), UKG (employee database system), and Dayforce (training & development system).
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and open projects at once.
  • Professional oral and written communication skills.
  • Superior customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated maturity & compliance of federal and state laws.
  • Ability to maintain composure within a fast-paced enviroment, and the ability to maintain confidentiality of all privledged conversations and/or employee information.
  • Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to push, pull, carry, and lift up to 25 lbs., and the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel, and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
