Job summary

UMass Amherst's Human Resources is seeking an HRBP I in Amherst. The role administers HR processes for assigned units, supports recruitment, onboarding, and benefits, and communicates policies to managers and staff.

You'll handle routine HR issues, with complex matters escalated to senior staff, and contribute to data reporting and process improvements within a hybrid work model. This position requires collaboration with HR colleagues and leadership to promote consistent service delivery

Qualifications

• Associate's degree with 4+ years HR experience or Bachelor's degree with 2+ years.
• Experience interpreting HR policies and advising managers.

Responsibilities

• Serves as first point of contact for HR issues and guides managers.
• Counsels search committees and hiring managers on recruitment procedures.
• Leads onboarding and orientation for new hires.
• Advises on leave of absence policies and administration.
• Conducts exit interviews and analyzes turnover data.
• Supports annual performance review processes.
• Enters and approves personnel actions in the HRIS.
• Develops HR reports to support initiatives.
• Collaborates with HR leaders to standardize service delivery.
