Job Description

Adolfson and Peterson Construction is currently hiring for a HR Business Partner for our Gulf States Region based out of Richardson. The office will be relocating in the upcoming months to the University Park area of Dallas, located near the intersection of Dallas North Tollway and Northwest Highway.

This role will provide aligned groups with high-quality partnership, consultation and support to deliver talent goals, including team member engagement, development, selection, onboarding, retention, and performance management.

Responsibilities

  • Take personal responsibility for working safely within an incident and injury free culture
  • Partner with business leaders to develop and implement action plans to improve culture, increase engagement, build morale and alignment, improve productivity, and increase retention
  • Serve as liaison between aligned groups and human resources to better inform and align talent strategies to front-line needs.
  • Manage the roll-out and/or support of annual human resources processes, including performance appraisals, goal-setting, compensation, compliance reporting, and engagement surveys for assigned region/departments
  • Collaborate with business leaders to research and resolve complex employee relations issues by conducting thorough and effective investigations, delivering consistent, proactive, pragmatic and sound guidance and coaching, and developing follow-up tools and processes that are consistent with HR policies and applicable employment laws
  • Develop and deliver training and coaching to managers and team members in a variety of areas including performance management and development, total rewards practices, and employment practices
  • Provide guidance, facilitation and support on the recruiting and selection process, onboarding, organizational structure, talent development, and succession planning
  • Identify, track, and analyze key HR metrics for the organization, provide synopses of trends and make recommendations to senior management
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements related to Human Resources
  • Ensure compliance with Company’s HR policies and employment practices.
  • Maintain the highest level of security and confidentiality in all matters
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field plus 5+ years of progressive experience in the broad spectrum of generalist functions, including, but not limited to employee relations, employee development, organizational effectiveness, compliance, and policy development
  • Experience in one other HR specialized area preferred, including talent acquisition, compensation, benefits or diversity, equity and inclusion
  • SPHR and/or SHRM-SCP preferred
  • Solid knowledge of human resources related compliance requirements
  • Proven experience handling complex employee relations issues
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS systems
  • Demonstrated integrity and ethical standards
  • Developed communication skills (written, oral, and listening) in order to effectively connect with diverse audiences
  • Demonstrated proactive problem solver, able to work independently, self-starter
  • Ability to efficiently manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously under time constraints
  • Able and available for 25% travel including job -site visits
  • Capability to identify and capitalize on opportunities quickly; ability to maintain effective balance between strategic and tactical priorities
  • Experience cultivating an active network of relationships, driving collaboration and alignment, relating well to colleagues and connecting with employees at all levels Ability to drive to the core the core of complex issues and provide insightful and constructive feedback
