Nisqually Red Wind Casino in Olympia, WA is offering an HR Apprentice opportunity designed for Nisqually Tribal Members to gain hands-on experience in Administrative Assistant, Service & Training Assistant, HR Coordinator, Employment Specialist roles.

Under supervision of the HR Department, the Apprentice will receive training toward a GED, learn all HR functions, and participate in pre-employment testing, interviewing, benefits processing, and records management.

Qualifications

• Nisqually Tribal Member.
• Willingness to study toward GED or high school diploma.
• Ability to learn all aspects of the HR Department.
• Ability to follow procedures and accept guidance.
• Ability to use basic computer skills.
• Ability to work within time constraints and stay on task.
• Ability to communicate effectively, verbal and written.
• Ability to work independently with sound judgment.
• Positive guest service and teamwork skills.
• Eligible for Class III Gaming License.

Responsibilities

• Assist HR team by performing essential functions of multiple HR roles.
• Maintain Team Member files, both digital and paper.
• Perform front desk duties and guest service tasks.
• Participate in interviews and assist with hiring processes.
• Utilize HRIS and generate reports.
• Learn Federal and Tribal laws and regulations.
