Job summary

Nisqually Indian Tribe in Olympia, WA, is seeking a Youth Coordinator to provide a safe, welcoming environment and meaningful activities for youth, guiding them toward futures. Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum two years of youth services experience.
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends.
  • Must pass state and federal background checks; valid WA driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Work as a team member to create and maintain a safe, healthy, and positive environment that helps Nisqually youth to thrive, reach their goals and plan for their futures.
  • Work in partnership with internal and external partners to provide wrap-around services for youth including health, behavioral health, education, recreation, nutrition, sports/fitness, vocational services, culture and language.
  • Plan, schedule and implement activities and events; procure materials; coordinate youth transportation; arrange field trips; coordinate speakers or instructors when needed.
  • Maintain positive communication with Management, other employees, youth, parents/guardians, volunteers, internal and external partners.
  • Assist youth in resolving basic problems and obtain guidance from supervisor.
  • Drive program vehicle for pick-up/drop-off and field trips.
  • Monitor facility to ensure safety procedures are followed and inform supervisor of concerns.
  • Prepare, collect, review and organize forms, program records, reports, or other documents.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all record-keeping and reporting.
  • Perform as team leader for lower level staff and volunteers when needed.
  • Perform mandatory reporter responsibilities as required.
