Job summary

LSU New Orleans is seeking an experienced Human Resources Analyst A/B/C to provide comprehensive HR support across absence, leave programs, and employment compliance. The role includes front office coverage and supervision of student workers, with focus on civil service rules and university policies.

Responsibilities span time/leave administration, FMLA, employment authorization, background checks, and workers' compensation. Requires relevant HR experience and a bachelor’s degree.

• Three years of human resources experience.
• Six years of full-time experience in any field.
• A bachelor's degree.

Responsibilities

• 30% Time and Leave Administration: Administer the University's absence and leave programs; maintain accruals; audit and reconcile leave records; assist with leave entry in Workday; calculate prior state service; process leave certifications and transfers; provide leave policy guidance; develop leave reports.
• 25% Leave of Absence & FMLA Administration: Process LWOP; initiate sabbatical; monitor leave activity; administer FMLA cases; determine eligibility; inform employees of rights; track usage; coordinate benefits with Benefits staff.
• 15% Employment Authorization & Compliance: Ensure Form I-9 compliance; process E-Verify; maintain records; enter work authorization data in Workday; ensure federal eligibility.
• 15% Workers' Compensation Administration: Process claims; coordinate with claims systems and Office of Risk Management; communicate with employees and providers; calculate leave credits and adjust payroll.
• 10% Employment Verification & Separation Processing: Process verification requests; complete separation docs; unemployment claims processing; submit notices to WCCC.
• 5% Other Duties as Assigned: Provide office coverage; backup to HR staff; participate in projects and trainings.
