Job summary

University of New Orleans is seeking an Human Resources Analyst A to provide comprehensive HR support, including employment transactions, position management, and time and leave administration. The role ensures compliance with Civil Service rules, university policies, and federal/state regulations while serving as a resource to supervisors, employees, and departments.

As part of a career progression group, the analyst may support front office coverage, student workers, and other HR functions.

Qualifications

  • Minimum three years HR experience; or six years in any field; or a bachelor's degree.
  • Experience with leave administration and time management.
  • Familiarity with employment verification processes and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Administer time and leave programs, maintain accruals and balances, audit records, and assist with leave entry in Workday.
  • Process LWOP, sabbaticals, and monitor FMLA cases; inform employees of rights and responsibilities.
  • Ensure I-9 compliance and E-Verify transactions within deadlines; maintain related records.
  • Manage workers' compensation claims and coordinate with payroll on leave credits.
  • Handle employment verification requests and unemployment claims; assist with separations.
