Job summary

Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development is seeking a Human Resources Analyst A-C to perform comprehensive HR duties for District 08, reporting to the Region 1 HR Manager. The role ensures compliance with Civil Service laws, DOTD policies, and LaGov HCM processes while supporting recruitment, benefits, and employee relations.

Key duties include processing hires, promotions, payroll actions, maintaining records, guiding benefits enrollment, and assisting with performance

Qualifications

Three years of human resources experience; OR six years of full-time experience in any field; OR a bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

Serves as a HR contact for the District, processing personnel and payroll actions such as hires, promotions, position changes, and separations, ensuring accuracy and compliance in LaGov HCM and related systems.
Maintains employee records and verifies employment data including pay, leave accrual, benefits, and organizational assignments; researches and resolves discrepancies in accordance with Civil Service rules and applicable laws.
Provides support for employee benefits programs, guiding staff through new hire enrollment, annual enrollment, qualifying life events, and retirement options.
Supports supervisors and managers with performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, ADA accommodations, and other employee relations matters.
Assists with recruitment activities by posting vacancy announcements, responding to applicant inquiries, reviewing materials for compliance, and providing workforce reports and HR support to leadership.
