Job summary

The Illinois Department of Transportation seeks a Highway Analyst to review and improve HPMS data quality and reporting. You will prepare annual HPMS submissions, manage data accuracy, and use GIS tools to create insightful plots and reports for stakeholders.

Preferred candidates have a GIS background, strong analytical skills, and experience with Microsoft Access and Excel. This role supports flexible scheduling and offers extensive state benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or two years college plus two years data analysis or GIS experience.
• Experience with data extraction, GIS analysis and reporting.
• Strong planning, organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Reviews HPMS data to improve accuracy and completeness.
• Develops year-end inventory closure and HPMS submittal procedures.
• Uses MS Access to summarize inventory data for reports.
• Interprets HPMS requirements to ensure compliance.
• Coordinates with district/central offices and FHWA for data needs.
• Produces GIS-based plots and reports as required.
