Job summary

Minnesota Department of Transportation in Saint Paul, MN seeks a Research Analyst Intermediate (GIS) to develop and maintain GIS data for HPMS and FHWA certification. You will oversee others’ work and coordinate with partners to resolve data needs.

The position offers a hybrid in-office/work-from-home arrangement and a telework option, with location in St. Paul. Two years GIS exp and a relevant degree are required, plus data-management and reporting capabilities.

Qualifications

• Two years of professional GIS experience
• Experience using GIS software to create, manage, and publish data.
• Experience in creating clear, accessible documents and reports.
• Experience in gathering information, defining issues, developing and implementing solutions, analyzing data, and presenting clear results.
• Experience editing XML, CSV, Excel, TXT, or similar data file formats using Microsoft applications or other data management tools.
• A Bachelor's degree substitutes for one year of professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a statistically valid Traffic Volume Program and related GIS data.
• Ensure FHWA certification during annual audit and HPMS requirements are satisfied.
• Provide oversight and error checking of others’ work and coordinate with internal/external partners.
