Job summary

Carolinas Medical Center in Concord, NC is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the Hepatobiliary (HPB) Surgery team. The NP/PA will provide comprehensive care in inpatient and outpatient settings, working closely with surgeons and the multidisciplinary team to manage hepatobiliary patients.

Responsibilities include rounds, order entry, wound and drain care, discharge planning, OR assistance, and patient education.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Adult Gerontology Acute Care NP or PA program.
• Master's degree required; doctoral degree preferred.
• Current NC NP or PA license and prescriptive privileges.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform inpatient consultations and daily rounding on HPB surgery patients.
• Develop and manage treatment plans; coordinate discharges with care team.
• Assist in open, laparoscopic, and robotic HPB surgeries.
• Provide postoperative wound and drain care and patient education.
• Maintain timely documentation in the EMR and coordinate follow-up care.
