HEI Hotels and Resorts is seeking a restaurant server to provide guests with exceptional service in a fast-paced setting at The Laura Hotel in Downtown Houston. The role involves greeting guests, recording orders, inputting into POS, delivering orders with condiments, and ensuring guest satisfaction while complying with alcohol-service rules.

Candidates should maintain a professional appearance, be a team player, and possess strong knowledge of menu items and service standards.

Qualifications

• Professional appearance required.
• Team player with willingness to pitch in.
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
• Knowledge of appropriate table settings, service ware and menu items.
• Ability to remember, recite and promote menu items.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and move large trays.
• Ability to operate beverage equipment and POS systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Check station for proper setup and cleanliness.
• Greet guests and explain specials/promotions.
• Record and repeat guest orders for accuracy.
• Enter orders into POS and inform kitchen.
• Deliver orders with condiments to guests.
• Adhere to state, federal and corporate alcohol-service rules.
• Replenish beverages and check guest satisfaction.
• Promote desserts or specialty coffees.
• Operate POS to pre-check orders and close checks.
• Present the check promptly.
• Attend on a regular basis and perform other duties as assigned.
