Job summary

Volunteers of America Southeast, Inc. in Griffin, GA is seeking a Housing Support Specialist to coordinate housing opportunities and provide supportive services to individuals experiencing homelessness.

The role requires collaboration with community agencies, strong documentation, and familiarity with Georgia housing resources. You will schedule and secure affordable housing, maintain records, attend monthly staff meetings, and participate in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or human services or related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in homeless services.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Passion for helping people experiencing homelessness.
• Flexible hours for on-call and after-hours emergencies.
• Preferred: Peer Specialist certification; 1–3 years in behavioral health; street outreach; addiction counseling certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, coordinate, and facilitate housing opportunities for individuals through housing development activities.
• Help individuals secure and maintain affordable housing.
• Provide housing advocacy and other supportive services to individuals.
• Complete all appropriate monthly and annual report forms.
• Maintain a complete working file with activity documentation and copies of paperwork.
• Attend and participate in monthly staff meetings with Regional Field Office and central Office of Supportive Housing, supervision sessions as required.
• Attend and participate in training to promote ongoing professional growth.
• Complete and submit incident reports within 24 hours as required by the program.
• Assume other responsibilities as assigned.
