The Salvation Army USA Eastern Territory is seeking a Temporary Rapid Rehousing Case Manager to join the Buffalo Area Services Team. This outreach role helps families exit homelessness quickly using Housing First principles.

You will assess housing needs, coordinate with landlords, assist with leases, maintain records, and connect clients to employment, health, and social supports. The role emphasizes confidentiality and compassionate service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Identify affordable housing options and recruit landlords for RRH participants.
• Educate landlords about RRH benefits and address barriers.
• Understand rental market standards and eligibility for RRH.
• Provide direct case management or coordinate with teams.
• Communicate with local agencies to access resources.
• Assist participants in finding housing based on needs and finances.
• Negotiate leases and support tenancy skills.
• Maintain client files and documentation.
• Offer ongoing outreach to tenants and develop action plans.
• Coordinate eviction prevention with housing partners.
• Help tenants develop life skills and access services.
• Link to employment and skill development opportunities.
• Provide crisis intervention as needed.
• Stay compliant with HUD and HMIS reporting.
• Attend trainings and meetings.
• Keep confidentiality and privacy.
• Recognize spiritual needs and refer to Corps officers for pastoral care.
• Represent The Salvation Army on committees and coalitions.
• Attend KeepSAfe trainings as required.
