Job summary

Volunteers of America Western Washington is seeking a Homelessness Prevention Coordinator I in Everett, WA to assist clients with case management and connection to housing resources. The position is full-time and focuses on preventing homelessness by supporting eligible clients with past due, current, and future rent payments.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in social services or related field, strong client-facing skills, and the ability to work independently or remotely as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, communications or social services preferred.
• Experience working with families and individuals in crisis.
• Effective organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Accept referrals of clients from the Coordinated Entry Support Specialist.
• Provide and refer clients to resources including landlord negotiation and housing stability services.
• Develop strong collaborative relationships with landlords and property owners.
• Utilize mediation and negotiation skills to maintain housing.
• Explain rental agreements and policies to clients; support the Renter Certification program.
• Collaborate with departments and partner agencies to maximize outcomes.
• Maintain confidentiality of client information and documentation.
• Meet with clients in person as needed and develop action plans.
