Job summary

Met Council in New York, NY seeks a Caseworker to ensure tenants receive support, resources, and services for independent living. The role involves interviewing tenants, assessing needs, and connecting residents with community resources and service providers.

The Caseworker will promote stability, maintain compliance with housing program regulations, and support tenants through crisis intervention and group activities.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or BS preferred.
• Minimum 2 years' experience with former alcoholics and drug addicts.
• Knowledge of Supportive Housing.

Responsibilities

• Complete intake assessments for new tenants and gather all required documentation.
• Assess and evaluate tenant needs per Housing Resources Administration (HRA) requirements.
• Provide information, referrals, and linkages to community resources and service providers.
• Facilitate weekly workshops and group activities to promote tenant independence.
• Advocate for tenants and provide crisis intervention services as needed.
• Complete required monthly and quarterly progress notes, case documentation, and program reports.
• Participate in tenant meetings and interdisciplinary team meetings.
• Encourage tenant engagement and community integration through activities and events.
