Job summary

Bowery Residents' Committee, Inc. is seeking an Assessment Specialist to conduct client assessments and provide case management, service coordination, and supportive counseling aimed at housing stability and independent living.

You will develop individualized service plans, connect clients to community resources, document progress, and collaborate with partners to promote positive outcomes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; CPR certification or ability to obtain.
• Experience in residential treatment, supportive housing, shelter, or similar human services.
• Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness.

Responsibilities

• Manage an assigned caseload and maintain regular client contact to support housing stability and independence.
• Provide case management, counseling, and service coordination using a client-centered approach.
• Develop and monitor individualized service plans addressing housing, recovery, and employment barriers.
• Coordinate referrals with medical, mental health, substance use, housing, and community providers.
• Assist clients in obtaining benefits, housing, employment, and supportive resources.
• Maintain accurate documentation, intake, and service records in a standard database.
