Job summary

Community Housing Innovations (CHI) is seeking a dedicated housing and services coordinator in White Plains, NY to promote personal and economic independence for program participants. You will help residents obtain and sustain housing, and support a newly constructed supportive housing program near downtown White Plains.

Responsibilities include intake, client advocacy, budgeting assistance, and coordinating with OMH, DSS, and property management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree preferred in related field.
• Two years of experience in mental health, homelessness, healthcare or housing.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; English proficiency required; Spanish a plus.
• Basic computer skills: MS Word, Excel, Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Enforce program rules and ensure clients receive quality, compliant services.
• Screen referrals, facilitate admissions, and review leases with tenants.
• Help clients develop Independent Housing Plans and coordinate referrals.
• Provide information, counseling, crisis intervention, and advocacy.
• Maintain client files, prepare reports, and coordinate with service providers.
• Conduct regular home visits and inspect living spaces for safety and compliance.
• Document needs, coordinate with property management, and support budget maintenance.
