RIM Recruitment Professionals is seeking a Housing Safety and Compliance Inspector in the Pittsburgh area. The role inspects housing units, documents deficiencies, and applies HUD NSPIRE standards across communities to ensure safe, decent, and compliant housing.

The position is full-time and paid hourly, with a flexible schedule based on inspections and workload. A driver’s license and reliable transportation are required for regular travel throughout western Pennsylvania.

Housing Safety and Compliance Inspector

Location: Pittsburgh, PA area
Job Type: Full-time, hourly (non-exempt)
Schedule: Daylight hours, with flexibility based on workload and inspection schedules
Pay: $22.00 to $30.00 per hour, depending on experience

About the Role

As our Housing Safety and Compliance Inspector, you will help ensure our housing is safe, decent, sanitary, accessible, and compliant with applicable housing standards. This is a great fit if you have experience in housing inspections, property maintenance, affordable housing, building systems, code compliance, or HUD housing programs and want to make a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults and individuals receiving housing assistance.

What You'll Do

• Inspect apartment units, common areas, and building exteriors across SCN communities
• Identify and clearly document physical housing deficiencies, with accurate notes and photos
• Apply HUD NSPIRE and other applicable housing standards during inspections
• Communicate findings to property management and maintenance teams and follow up on corrections
• Interact professionally and respectfully with residents, housing partners, and team members
• Keep organized inspection schedules and records
• Other duties as assigned

What You'll Need

• High school diploma or GED
• Active, valid driver's license and reliable transportation for regular travel throughout western Pennsylvania
• Observant, organized, and comfortable working independently
• Ability to identify and clearly document physical housing deficiencies
• Ability to interact professionally with residents, housing partners, and colleagues
• Preferred (We'll Train the Right Person): Knowledge of any of the following is a plus: HUD NSPIRE standards, affordable housing, HOPWA, building systems, property maintenance, Fair Housing, accessibility requirements, or local housing codes.
