Job summary

CVOEO is hiring a Community Service Worker / Housing Retention Specialist at Franklin Grand Isle Community Action. The role provides housing-focused case management, advocacy, and retention support for households with low income to obtain, stabilize, and maintain safe housing.

Responsibilities include helping clients save, budget, and problem-solve, coordinating with agencies and landlords to resolve barriers, and referring to programs like Financial Futures for credit repair and asset

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, psychology, sociology, or related field; minimum two years of case management or related human services experience.
• Commitment to diversity and inclusive environment.
• Valid driver's license, clean driving record, transportation access, and willingness to travel within the CVOEO service area.
• Ability to uphold safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide housing-focused case management, advocacy, and retention support to help households obtain and maintain housing.
• Advocate for clients with agencies, landlords, and funders to address rent arrears, deposits, utilities, leases, and barriers to stability.
• Offer information, referrals, and encouragement to access services, including referrals to CVOEO programs such as Financial Futures.
