Job summary

Community Health Resources in Manchester, CT, is seeking a Housing Support Specialist II to provide direct case management, housing stabilization planning, and supportive services to participants in the HERO program.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, at least two years’ experience with homelessness or housing programs, and a valid driver’s license. You’ll work Monday–Friday 8:30AM–5PM, with flexible scheduling, in a full-time, on-site capacity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, Human Services preferred.
  • 2 years’ experience working with homeless population or housing-related programs.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct case management and housing stabilization planning, including skill teaching and advocacy.
  • Assist clients in completing applications for Husky, Social Security, State Supplements and other entitlements.
  • Assist clients with access to job and vocational training.
  • Link clients to appropriate mental health and/or substance abuse counseling and DCF services.
  • Provide direct assistance in security deposits and time-limited rental assistance.
  • Advocate with landlords for tenant rights and assist with conflict resolution.
