Job summary

Advocacy Unlimited, Inc. is seeking a Recovery Support Specialist for the HERO program in Norwich, CT.

The role provides housing-focused recovery support, case management, and community-based services to individuals with opioid use disorder. The position requires lived recovery experience, CPSRP or equivalent certification (or within 6 months of hire), and a valid driver’s license; CPR/First Aid certification is also needed or obtained within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Lived experience with recovery from mental health or substance use condition(s).
• 2+ years working with identified populations; CPSRP preferred.
• Certification: CPSRP or Recovery Coach or equivalent, or must be obtained within 6 months of hire. Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients in identifying and advocating their recovery goals.
• Conduct program assessments and create person-centered treatment plans.
• Provide crisis intervention or de-escalation as needed.
