Job summary

SAMMinistries in San Antonio, TX seeks a Housing Navigator to assist individuals experiencing homelessness in accessing housing options and services. You will complete Coordinated Entry assessments, keep HomeLink active, and coordinate with partners to connect clients with needed resources.

The role requires strong communication, ability to manage multiple tasks, and completion of SOAR within 30 days. A Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field and experience with vulnerable populations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work or related field.
• Minimum two years of experience working with homelessness or vulnerable populations.
• SOAR certification within 30 days of hire.
• Experience with Harm Reduction, Motivational Interviewing, and de-escalation techniques.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer inquiries and provide information to callers seeking assistance with services offered by the homeless response system.
• Greet potential clients and assess their needs and guide them to resources.
• Enroll individuals into the Coordinated Entry System for homeless services.
• Connect clients to mental health, medical care, substance use treatment and crisis services.
• Maintain timely and thorough HMIS data entry and records.
