Job summary

Avivo in Bloomington, MN is seeking a Housing Navigator to help MFIP participants access safe, affordable housing and pursue housing, employment, and family goals. The role emphasizes relationship-building, advocacy, and coordinating services within a supportive team.

You will develop individualized plans, connect participants to housing resources, and collaborate with landlords, housing authorities, and community partners to expand opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus 4 years related experience, or an associate with 2 years, or a related bachelor's degree.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to problem-solve and work independently.
• Experience helping individuals and families facing housing, poverty, employment, or other life challenges.
• Knowledge of community resources, public benefits, and supportive service systems.

Responsibilities

• Partner with MFIP participants to increase access to affordable housing, resources, and stable shelter
• Develop individualized plans and connect participants to services that support housing and self-sufficiency goals
• Build relationships with landlords, property managers, housing authorities, and community partners to expand housing opportunities
• Assist participants in accessing employment services, benefits, financial literacy education, tenant education, and supportive services
• Conduct assessments and identify resources that support individual and family goals
• Provide advocacy and support to help participants navigate housing and community systems
• Implement outreach and engagement strategies that promote housing stability and long-term success
• Coordinate referrals and monitor participant progress to support ongoing eligibility and engagement
• Maintain accurate documentation and case records in accordance with policies and funding requirements
• Collaborate with community organizations, service providers, and internal teams to improve participant outcomes
