Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles County (NLSLA) is seeking a licensed attorney to join the Shriver Housing Project as a Flex Staff Attorney. The position blends on-site work at the Shriver Self-Help Center with remote work, reporting to the Supervising Attorney.

You will assist tenants facing eviction, provide court and non-court services, and support a team of housing advocates. The role requires a JD, CA Bar license or RLAA eligibility within 30 days, and 2–3 years of relevant

Qualifikationen

• JD from an accredited law school and CA State Bar license or RLAA eligibility within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum 2–3 years of legal experience, preferably in litigation or client advocacy.
• Must be able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent writing, speaking, and organizational skills; ability to communicate effectively with clients, courts, and the public.
• Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and web-based case management platforms.

Aufgaben

• Provide legal assistance at varying levels of service across eviction matters.
• Assist litigants with preparation of motions, letters, intake, and assessment of merits.
• Provide limited brief services and representation on unlawful detainer matters, including discovery, motions, and trial preparation.
• Review legal documents and provide support to attorneys, paralegals, interns, and volunteers.
• Develop workshops, clinics, and educational materials; train and supervise staff and volunteers.
