Job summary

Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles County (NLSLA) seeks an attorney to join a holistic legal services team focused on removing housing barriers and serving residents across Los Angeles County, including Antelope Valley, San Fernando Valley, and San Gabriel Valley.

You will report to the Supervising Attorney and engage in housing litigation, public benefits advocacy, and record clearing, while educating community partners through Know Your Rights trainings and outreach events.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school and active California State Bar license.
• Demonstrated commitment to public interest law and serving low-income communities.
• Strong research, writing, and organizational skills.
• Ability to multi-task and communicate effectively in writing and speaking.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic legal services across housing, re-entry, and public benefits advocacy.
• Represent families and individuals facing housing instability with housing advocacy.
• Create and conduct Know Your Rights trainings and staffing outreach events.
• Maintain relationships with community partners by attending provider meetings.
• Travel to NLSLA program offices and courthouses as needed; work on-site at least two days weekly.
