Job summary

Good Shepherd is seeking a housing support professional to provide trauma-informed case management for youth, women, and families facing homelessness. You will assist in securing permanent housing, coordinate with community agencies, and support clients through up to 24 months of ongoing services.

The role requires post-secondary Education in Social Service, at least one year of related experience, and CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Social Service or related field is required.
• Minimum 1 year related experience in Social Services or related field.
• Knowledge of issues affecting youth, women, and families including homelessness, violence, poverty, mental illness and substance use.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-informed intensive case management to youth, women and families experiencing chronic homelessness.
• Work with service users to secure permanent housing and provide ongoing case management for up to 24 months.
• Partner with agencies to coordinate assets and services to meet individualized housing and support needs.
• Work takes place in office, overflow hotels, emergency shelters, and in the community.
• Accompany service users to appointments, apartment viewings, and monthly home visits.
• Assist service users in a hands-on capacity as needed.
• Observe health and safety rules and comply with Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations.

Education

Post-secondary education in Social Service or related field
