Avanath Capital seeks a meticulous Compliance Auditor to join our Compliance Team. The role focuses on hard-file reviews to ensure adherence to leasing laws, fair housing and internal policies. The incumbent will review resident files, documents, and records, identifying non-compliance issues and advising corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills with hard file examination.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently, and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Demonstrates a sense of urgency and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Knowledge of Affordable Housing regulations highly desired.
• Working knowledge of Yardi Voyager Property Management software highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth reviews of hard files, including lease agreements and tenant records to assess compliance.
• Examine property records to identify discrepancies or potential issues.
• Collaborate with property managers to address compliance concerns and guide corrective actions.
• Maintain understanding of federal, state, and local leasing regulations.
• Generate detailed audit reports with findings and recommendations.
• Support development and implementation of compliance policies and procedures.
• Stay informed about changes in property management regulations to ensure full compliance.
• Provide guidance and training to property management teams on documentation and record-keeping.
