Job summary

Avanath is seeking a meticulous Compliance Auditor to join our Compliance Team. The role focuses on hard-file reviews to ensure leasing files meet applicable laws, ACA regulations, and internal policies, with emphasis on accuracy and documentation.

You will collaborate with property managers, prepare detailed audit reports, and support policy development while staying current on federal, state, and local requirements.

Qualifications

• Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills, particularly with hard file examination.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently, and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Demonstrates a sense of urgency and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
• Knowledge of Affordable Housing regulations highly desired.
• Working knowledge of Yardi Voyager Property Management software highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth reviews of hard files, including lease agreements, tenant records, financial documents, and maintenance records, to assess compliance with leasing agreements, safety regulations, and fair housing laws.
• Examine property records and documentation to identify discrepancies or potential compliance issues.
• Collaborate with property managers and relevant staff to address compliance concerns and guide the implementation of corrective actions.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of federal, state, and local regulations related to property management and leasing.
• Generate detailed audit reports highlighting findings, recommendations, and areas requiring corrective action based on hard file reviews.
• Provide support for the development and implementation of compliance policies and procedures.
• Stay informed about changes in property management and compliance regulations and ensure the organization remains fully compliant.
• Offer guidance and training to property management teams regarding maintaining compliance through proper documentation and record-keeping.
