Job summary

The City of York is seeking a Housing Code Enforcement Inspector to conduct interior and exterior inspections of residential properties in order to ensure safe, sanitary living conditions and compliance with the Property Maintenance Code and Neighborhood Improvement Ordinance.

Candidates will log violations, issue notices, and coordinate with owners and city departments, while maintaining accurate records and participating in required trainings and hearings.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Over six months up to one year of experience preferred.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Windows.

Responsibilities

• Inspect tenant-occupied residences and property maintenance to enforce city codes.
• Log violations and issue notices to owners; follow up to ensure compliance.
• Enter inspection results into tracking systems and prepare necessary paperwork.
