The City of Hartford, within the Licenses and Inspection Division, seeks an inspector to conduct housing unit inspections for code violations and promote housing hygiene. Under supervision, you will enforce health and housing codes, prepare reports, and assist in related enforcement actions.

Some evenings/weekends may be required. You will inspect interior and exterior dwellings, coordinate with agencies, and advise owners on corrections.

Formación

• Graduation from high school supplemented by two (2) years of college AND two (2) years of responsible, professional experience in the field of real estate, construction, housing hygiene, sanitation inspection, or a closely related field; OR Graduation from high school and five (5) years of responsible, professional experience in the field of real estate, construction, housing hygiene, sanitation inspection, or a closely related field.

Responsabilidades

• Inspects housing units for code violations and sanitation hazards.
• Conducts routine and detailed inspections of housing facilities.
• Prepares reports and enforces corrective actions.
• Advises owners on corrections and coordinates with outside contractors.
