Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma plus vocational/technical plumbing training.
• Minimum 5 years progressively responsible experience in plumbing code enforcement or related work.
• Ability to read/interpret plans and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections for plumbing, mechanical, heating, building, and related codes.
• Review plans/specifications and approve or reject materials as required.
• Investigate complaints/violations and document findings; conduct follow-up inspections.
• Explain code requirements to owners, contractors, and the public.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections and actions; may supervise other inspectors.
