Job summary

East Missouri Action Agency is seeking a Housing Specialist I to manage the daily workflow of paperwork, computer tasks, and client/landlord communications within the Section 8 program.

Responsibilities include determining eligibility, conducting family and landlord briefings, issuing vouchers, recertifying tenants, generating invoices and letters, and ensuring accurate records while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Qualifications

• 18+ with high school diploma or GED.
• Strong communication and public relations skills.
• Excellent computer, organizational and confidentiality skills.
• Valid Missouri driver's license and good attendance.

Responsibilities

• Determine eligibility for Section 8 housing programs.
• Conduct family briefings and landlord briefings; issue vouchers and recertifications.
• Generate invoices, opening letters, and other correspondence; maintain accurate records.
