East Missouri Action Agencyhas an opening fora Housing Specialist I.This position is responsible for the daily flow of paperwork, computer work, and contact with clients and landlords in the operation of the Section 8 Housing Programs. Duties included, but are not limited to: determining eligibility, family briefings, issuance of vouchers, landlord briefings, client recertification, generating invoices for payments to landlords and clients, generating opening letters, recertification letters and other correspondence, reporting, securing signatures to complete leasing activities, checking files for accuracy and completeness, computer input of tenant information, housing unit information and vendor information.
Applicants must be 18 or older and must possess a high school diploma or GED. This position requires good communication and public relation skills, good mathematical skills, excellent computer skills, good organizational skills, the ability to deal with the public in a professional manner, the ability to maintain client confidentiality and operate office equipment. Candidate must possess a valid Missouri Driver's License and maintain good attendance.
