Job summary

IHG Hotels is seeking a top-level supervisor for the Housekeeping Department in Los Angeles. You’ll lead a small team of housekeeping and laundry staff, ensuring high standards across guest rooms, suites, and public areas.

Daily duties include supervising operations, mentoring staff, and coordinating with other departments to deliver guest satisfaction. You will train and guide the team on safety and compliance, schedule shifts, and handle guest requests and issues with diplomacy to uphold IHG’s

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with some supervisory training/experience.
• Fluency in English; a second language is a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervising housekeeping and laundry operations to maintain high standards.
• Check public areas and guest rooms for cleanliness and maintenance; advise on improvements.
• Perform basic housekeeping tasks as needed to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Handle complaints and special requests to achieve guest satisfaction.
• Manage staffing, plan and assign work, and provide coaching and feedback.
• Educate staff on safety regulations and ensure tools/equipment are provided.

Job description

This is the top supervisory job in the Housekeeping Department. Typically supervises a small number of housekeeping and laundry employees.

Your Day to Day -

• Supervising all aspects of housekeeping and laundry - and ensure high standards are maintained.
• Check public areas, guest rooms/suites, equipment, linens are clean and in good repair advise team members of areas of improvements.
• Perform housekeeping duties necessary , including making beds as well as vacuuming and cleaning guest suites to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Handle complaints and special requests to achieve complete guest satisfaction.
• Comply with special needs and requests of the guests, VIPs and repeat visitors
• Manage day-to-day staffing requirements, plan, and assign work and establish performance and development goals for employees. Provide mentoring, coaching and regular feedback to help manage conflict and improve employee performance.
• Educate and train all employees in compliance with governmental and safety regulations.
• Ensure staff is properly trained and has the tools and equipment to carry out job duties.
• Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other department heads.
• May assist with deep cleaning projects and/or assist housekeeping staff during high volume periods.

What we need from you -

• High school diploma / secondary education / equivalent plus one year of housekeeping experience, including some supervisory training/experience.
• Fluency in English - a second language is a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• A passion for hospitality.
• The hourly pay range for this role is $18.94 to $21.60.
