Job summary

Hotel Indigo Naperville Riverwalk, located in Naperville, IL, is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to oversee the morning shift and ensure guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces meet InterContinental standards while delivering exceptional guest experiences.

You will supervise room attendants, conduct inspections, schedule work, train staff, and coordinate with Engineering and Front Office to maintain timely room readiness and quality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–3 years housekeeping experience in hotel, resort or luxury hospitality.
• Supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Knowledge of housekeeping procedures and hotel quality standards.
• Strong communication, leadership and organizational skills.
• Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays.
• Proficient in hotel PMS and Microsoft Office preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and inspect the work of Room Attendants, Housepersons and Public Area Attendants.
• Conduct inspections of guest rooms and public areas for cleanliness and presentation.
• Assign daily schedules and room assignments based on occupancy and needs.
• Monitor room status and coordinate with Front Office for availability.
• Train, coach and develop housekeeping staff and foster teamwork.
• Respond promptly to guest requests and service recovery opportunities.
• Monitor attendance and performance; provide feedback and corrective action as needed.
• Ensure compliance with policies, safety OSHA standards and sanitation procedures.
• Assist with inventory control, linen management, supply ordering and cost-control.
• Report maintenance concerns and coordinate with Engineering for timely resolution.
• Support Director of Operations with projects, payroll, scheduling and admin tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping department during the morning shift. This role ensures guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces meet InterContinental brand standards while delivering exceptional guest experiences.

• Supervise and inspect the work of Room Attendants, Housepersons, and Public Area Attendants to ensure quality standards are met.
• Conduct guest room and public area inspections, ensuring cleanliness, presentation, and maintenance standards are maintained.
• Assign daily work schedules and room assignments based on occupancy and operational needs.
• Monitor room status and communicate updates with the Front Office team to support efficient room availability.
• Train, coach, and develop housekeeping colleagues while promoting a positive and productive work environment.
• Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests, concerns, and service recovery opportunities.
• Monitor attendance, productivity, and performance; provide feedback and support corrective action when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, OSHA standards, and sanitation procedures.
• Assist with inventory control, linen management, supply ordering, and cost-control initiatives.
• Report maintenance concerns and coordinate with Engineering to ensure timely resolution.
• Support the Director of Operations with departmental projects, payroll, scheduling, and administrative responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1–3 years of housekeeping experience in a hotel, resort, or luxury hospitality environment.
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of housekeeping procedures, cleaning equipment, and hotel quality standards.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.
• Proficient in hotel property management systems and Microsoft Office applications preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain standing or walking for extended periods.

Hourly Rate

Hourly range: $23.00
