Overview: The Housekeeping Supervisor oversees housekeeping functions in assigned sections and assumes all Housekeeping Manager responsibilities in their absence.

Responsibilities:

  1. Inspect Room Attendant’s work performance daily to ensure standards and productivity are met.
  2. In the absence of the Housekeeping Manager or Assistant, inspect VIP rooms and report availability to the Front Office.
  3. Oversee the closing of floors, ensuring carts are clean and stocked.
  4. Complete and submit daily assignment records on time.
  5. Maintain key control.
  6. Handle Lost and Found items according to standards.
  7. Monitor cleanliness of carts, linen closets, control closets, stairways, and landings.
  8. Assign daily duties to Room Attendants and House Attendants.
  9. Carry an active pager/radio for communication with the Front Office and Engineering.
  10. Report progress on out-of-order rooms to the Guest Services Manager.
  11. Initiate and follow up on repair and maintenance work orders.
  12. Assist in training housekeeping staff.
  13. May be required to clean rooms as needed.
  14. Ensure biannual completion of cleaning projects.
  15. Maintain overall guest satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent; college coursework in related fields is helpful.
  • Two to three years of progressive hotel or related experience preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to stand throughout the shift.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with employees and guests, in a friendly and courteous manner.
