The Standard, Lisbon is seeking a Housekeeping Intern to support pre-opening preparations and learn procedures across the Rooms Division. You will work on preparing 170 guestrooms, 24 long-stay apartments, and public spaces to welcome our first guests with enthusiasm and high standards.

We value hospitality passion, a proactive attitude, and strong attention to detail. Fluency in Portuguese is preferred; other languages are a plus.

Formación

• Pursuing Hospitality Management, Tourism or related discipline, ideally for first or second internship.
• Interest in housekeeping operations, Rooms Division management and lifestyle hospitality.
• Warm, confident and able to interact with guests and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
• Energy, creativity, curiosity and a proactive, hands-on approach.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain high standards.
• Team player eager to learn and contribute ideas.
• Interest in lifestyle hospitality, design, music, art and culture.
• Comfort with technology and willingness to learn hotel systems such as Opera Cloud.
• Good working knowledge of Portuguese; additional languages are a plus.
• Flexible with working hours, including weekends and public holidays, as per internship program.

Responsabilidades

Your role

As our Housekeeping Intern, you’ll join us at one of the most exciting moments in a hotel’s journey: the countdown to opening. Working alongside our Housekeeping and Rooms Division teams, you’ll gain hands‑on experience preparing 170 guestrooms, 24 long-stay apartments and our vibrant public spaces for our very first guests.

You’ll get involved in pre‑opening preparations, learn our housekeeping procedures and service standards, and gain exposure to different areas of the department, from guestroom and public area operations to housekeeping coordination, room inspections and supervisory activities. Once our doors open, you’ll help deliver exceptional guest experiences, ensuring our rooms and public spaces look their best, responding to guest requests and working closely with other departments to bring our ‘Anything but Standard’ philosophy to life.

This isn’t your typical internship. You’ll experience the excitement of launching a brand-new hotel, learn from experienced hospitality professionals and discover how attention to the smallest details can create something extraordinary. Previous hotel experience isn’t essential. We’re looking for someone with a genuine passion for hospitality, a positive attitude and an appetite to learn. Your individuality, energy and attention to detail are just as important as your academic background.

• Be studying Hospitality Management, Tourism or a related discipline, ideally seeking their first or second internship as part of their academic programme
• Have a genuine interest in housekeeping operations, Rooms Division management and lifestyle hospitality
• Be naturally warm, confident and comfortable interacting with guests and colleagues from all walks of life
• Bring energy, creativity, curiosity and a proactive, hands‑on approach
• Have excellent organisational skills, a keen eye for detail and a passion for maintaining exceptional standards
• Be a team player who’s eager to learn, contribute ideas and embrace new challenges
• Have an interest in lifestyle hospitality, design, music, art and culture
• Be comfortable with technology and keen to learn hotel systems such as Opera Cloud
• Have a good working knowledge of Portuguese; additional languages are a plus
• Be flexible with working hours, including weekends and public holidays, in line with the agreed internship programme
