Job summary

The Standard, Brussels is seeking an F&B Operations Intern to join our dynamic Food & Beverage team. You'll gain hands-on experience supporting restaurant and bar operations, in-room dining, events and guest experiences under the guidance of F&B managers.

You should be studying Hospitality Management or a related field, with a passion for hospitality, strong communication, teamwork and a willingness to learn in a creative, international environment.

Qualifications

• Currently studying Hospitality Management, Food & Beverage Management, Tourism or related discipline.
• Interest in F&B operations, restaurant and bar management, and lifestyle hospitality.
• Willingness to learn, be proactive and participate in flexible internship hours.

Responsibilities

• Support daily operation of restaurants, bars and in-room dining.
• Assist with service planning, team scheduling, stock management and purchasing.
• Organise breakfast, lunch, dinner and special events with attention to detail.
• Participate in training, supervision and guest satisfaction initiatives.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service.

Your role

As our F&B Operations Intern, you'll join our dynamic Food & Beverage team, working alongside our F&B Director and management team to gain hands‑on experience in the operational and management side of a vibrant lifestyle hotel.

You'll support the daily running of our restaurants, bars and in‑room dining operations, gaining exposure to service planning, team scheduling, stock management, purchasing and supplier coordination. You'll also get involved in organising breakfast, lunch, dinner and special events, learning how great teamwork and attention to detail bring our F&B experiences to life.

Working closely with our F&B Managers, you'll gain insight into team supervision, training and development, service standards, food safety and guest satisfaction. You'll also participate in operational meetings, support our teams during busy services and events, and collaborate with other departments to ensure everything runs seamlessly.

This isn't your typical internship. You'll gain valuable exposure to F&B management, discover the energy of our restaurants, bars and rooftop experiences, and learn from experienced hospitality professionals who know how to create something extraordinary.

• Be studying Hospitality Management, Food & Beverage Management, Tourism or a related discipline, ideally seeking an internship as part of their academic programme
• Have a genuine interest in F&B operations, restaurant and bar management, and lifestyle hospitality
• Be naturally warm, confident and comfortable engaging with guests and colleagues from different backgrounds
• Bring energy, creativity, curiosity and a proactive, hands‑on approach
• Demonstrate excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an interest in developing leadership and team management skills
• Have an appreciation for great food, wines, cocktails and delivering exceptional guest experiences
• Be a team player who's adaptable, open‑minded and eager to learn from experienced F&B professionals
• Have an interest in lifestyle hospitality, music, art, culture and Brussels' vibrant food and nightlife scene
• Have a good working knowledge of French and English; additional languages are a plus
• Be flexible with working hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays, in line with the agreed internship programme
