Job summary

SGMC Health in Georgia is seeking a full-time Environmental Services worker for the BER - Housekeeping department at the Berrien Campus.

The role performs daily cleaning and stocking of patient rooms, nursing stations, lounges, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, bathrooms, elevators, and stairwells to maintain sanitary standards. The schedule is 3 pm–11:30 pm; on-the-job training provided; High School Diploma preferred; prior experience welcome but not required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, and follow directives.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience desirable but not required.
• Must demonstrate correct use of chemicals, supplies, and tools after brief training.
• One week to three months on-the-job training.

JOB LOCATION : Berrien Campus

DEPARTMENT: BER - HOUSEKEEPING

SCHEDULE: Full Time, 8HR Evening Shift, 3 pm - 11:30 pm

POSITION SUMMARY:

To perform daily cleaning and supplying of patient rooms, nursing stations, lounges, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, bathrooms, elevators, stairwells in a clean and sanitary manner in accordance with the standard housekeeping procedures. Performs all assigned tasks in a professional manner in order to reflect the highest integrity of the Environmental Services Department. Participates in the department’s performance improvement activities.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Must be able to read, write, and follow directives.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience desirable but not required.
• Must, after brief training, be able to demonstrate correct use of chemicals, supplies, and assigned tools.
• One week to three months on-the-job training.

WORKING CONDITIONS - ADA INFORMATION

Comfortable routine working conditions with the possibility of irregular schedule including weekends. Exposure to certain levels of stress. Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
