Job summary

Avenues Recovery Center in Norfolk, VA is hiring a housekeeper to support our detox and residential facility. The role focuses on maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for clients and staff, with routine custodial tasks and inventory management.

You will report to the Executive Director and help uphold our high standards of care and professionalism. No formal education is required, and we value reliability, honesty, and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• No formal education required.
• Minimum of two years' related experience preferred.
• If in recovery, a minimum one-year period of sustained sobriety is required.
• Excellent communication, multitasking, and time management skills.
• Strong responsibility and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness and smooth function of property and plant.
• Perform routine custodial duties such as cleaning, restocking, removing garbage, bedding etc.
• Provide consistent operational support as required by the Executive Director.
• Complete daily, weekly, and monthly checklists to ensure cleanliness and upkeep of facility.
• Report on all activities completed, escalating any concerns to the Executive Director.
