Job summary

Tennessee State Veterans’ Homes is seeking a dedicated housekeeping professional for our healthcare environment. Responsibilities include cleaning patient rooms, bathrooms, and common areas while following safety protocols to protect residents and staff.

The role requires the ability to interact positively with residents, families and staff. Shift is first; flexibility to cover other shifts may be needed. Training provided; opportunities to support laundry tasks as required.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare environmental services preferred.
• Ability to interact positively with staff, residents and families.

Responsibilities

• Ensures that rooms in the facility are cleaned properly.
• Follow safety procedures when performing housekeeping services.
• Clean/polish furnishings, fixtures, and room elements daily as instructed.
• Clean, wash, sanitize, and polish bathroom fixtures; remove water marks.
• Clean windows/mirrors in resident areas and entrances/exits.
• Clean walls and ceilings; wash, wipe, dust, and disinfect as needed.
• Clean floors: sweep, dust, damp/wet mop; use caution signs prior to cleaning.

Reports To: Environmental Services /Laundry Manager

Shift: First shift. Must have flexibility to work other shifts as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Ensures that the rooms within the facility are cleaned in the proper manner.
• Follow all established safety procedures and precautions when performing housekeeping services.
• Clean/polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, room heating/cooling units, etc., in resident rooms, recreational areas, etc., daily as instructed.
• Clean, wash, sanitize, and/or polish bathroom fixtures. Ensure that water marks are removed from fixtures.
• Clean windows/mirrors in resident rooms, recreational areas, bathrooms, and entrance/exit ways.
• Clean walls and ceilings by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, deodorizing, etc.
• Clean floors, to include sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, etc. (NOTE: Ensure that appropriate caution/safety signs are properly set up prior to performing such duties.)
• Assists in other housekeeping duties as needed.
• Assists in the laundry, as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in healthcare environmental services preferred.
• Must be able to positively interact with other staff, residents and families.
