Job summary

The Tennessee State Veterans’ Homes Board seeks a dedicated housekeeping/environmental services worker to maintain cleanliness in resident rooms and common areas within its state veterans’ home facilities.

The role requires attention to detail, ability to work with residents and staff, and commitment to safety and sanitation standards. Full-time on-site position with comprehensive state benefits and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in healthcare environmental services preferred.
• Must be able to positively interact with other staff, residents and families.

Responsibilities

• Clean, polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, room heating/cooling units in resident rooms and common areas daily.
• Clean windows and mirrors in resident rooms, recreational areas, bathrooms and entryways.
• Clean walls and ceilings by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning and disinfecting.
• Vacuum, sweep, mop floors and ensure cleanliness of bathrooms and fixtures.
• Assist in other housekeeping duties and in the laundry as needed.
• Follow established safety procedures and use caution signs when performing duties.

• Ensures that the rooms within the facility are cleaned in the proper manner.
• Follows all established safety procedures and precautions when performing housekeeping services.
• Clean/polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, room heating/cooling units, etc., in resident rooms, recreational areas, etc., daily as instructed.
• Clean, wash, sanitize, and/or polish bathroom fixtures. Ensure that water marks are removed from fixtures.
• Clean windows/mirrors in resident rooms, recreational areas, bathrooms, and entrance/exit ways.
• Clean walls and ceilings by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, deodorizing, etc.
• Clean floors, to include sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, etc. (NOTE: Ensure that appropriate caution/safety signs are properly set up prior to performing such duties.)
• Assists in other housekeeping duties as needed.
• Assists in the laundry, as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
