Job summary

Tennessee State Veterans' Homes Board is seeking a detail-oriented Floor Tech to join our team. The Floor Tech will maintain the cleanliness and appearance of floors across our facilities, performing mopping, sweeping and polishing, with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience as Floor Tech or similar role is a plus.
• Knowledge of floor cleaning techniques, equipment, and solutions.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment, such as floor scrubbers and buffers.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual labor tasks.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with team members and other departments.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine floor maintenance tasks, including mopping, sweeping, and polishing floors.
• Clean and sanitize floors by using appropriate cleaning solutions and equipment.
• Inspect floors for any damages or issues and report them to the maintenance team.
• Remove any stains or marks on floors using specialized cleaning techniques.
• Follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines to ensure a clean and safe environment.
• Assist with the setup and breakdown of events by arranging and rearranging furniture as needed.
• Respond to and fulfill additional cleaning requests from other departments.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment and report any shortages or malfunctions.
• Collaborate with other team members and communicate effectively to ensure job tasks are completed efficiently.
