Job summary

Trinity Health in Newton, IA is seeking a House Supervisor RN to provide 24-hour patient care coordination and serve as on-site nursing leadership during off shifts and weekends.

You will mentor staff, supervise Med/Surg, OB, SCU, ER and OR units, coordinate clinical care, and collaborate with department directors and the Chief Nursing Officer to ensure continuity of care and safe, efficient operations. Strong communication and conflict resolution skills are required.

Qualifications

• Education: BSN or higher nursing degree from an accredited school.
• Experience: A minimum of two years clinical experience as RN staff nurse; Med/Surg, ER, SCU and OB preferred.
• Licensure: Current unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse from the State of Iowa.
• Clinical competency: Able to interpret telemetry and maintain basic nursing competency across relevant units.

Responsibilities

• Provides 24/7 patient care clinical coordination and acts as on-site nursing leadership during off shifts and weekends.
• Mentors and supports nursing staff; demonstrates leadership and teamwork with other nursing leaders.
• Coordinates clinical care and ensures continuity of patient care across Med/Surg, OB, SCU, ER and OR.
• Serves as liaison between nursing staff and physicians when needed; participates in performance evaluation of staff.
• Participates in quality assessment and performance improvement; attends leadership and organizational meetings.
