Job summary

Saint Joseph’s Center in Scranton is seeking a House Manager for Walsh Manor to support pregnant women as they prepare for motherhood. You will guide residents, teach life skills, and model compassionate daily living in a safe home.

The role requires strong communication, reliability, and the ability to maintain records. A PA driver’s license and basic computer skills are essential; driving may be needed in emergencies to ensure resident safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License required.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, email, internet).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Confidentiality and a respectful, flexible attitude.
• Ability to sit for portions and walk for portions of shifts.

Responsibilities

• Support and guide pregnant women living in the residence.
• Help residents develop life skills like cooking, cleaning, parenting, and budgeting.
• Encourage and support personal growth and goal setting.
• Monitor safety and cleanliness of the home.
• Teach and model positive daily living habits.
• Keep resident records and logs up to date.
• Communicate with staff, residents, and outside agencies.
• Offer emotional support and crisis intervention when needed.
• In case of an emergency, driving may be required to ensure safety.
