Job Description Summary

The House Attendant (HA) works with the Housekeeping Management Team to assist Room Attendants on assigned floors or buildings by collecting dirty linens and transporting to the laundry area, delivering clean linens to Room Attendant carts, and retrieving trash throughout the hotel. Assist with the commercial laundry function and/or the cleaning of public area spaces, exterior entrances to the hotel, and parking lot. Will be assigned special projects as assigned by the Housekeeping Manager.

Job Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Deliver on the promise of Sonesta Service in all interactions with guests and clients according to the Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards.
2. Work with Room Attendants with heavy items such as mattresses and linens. Deliver linens and other supplies to Room Attendants.
3. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of floor closets and corridors including removing trash, wiping down shelves/counters, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors.
4. Respond to guests’ requests in a timely and efficient manner.
5. Clean designated areas such as public restrooms, storage rooms, and other public spaces.
6. Report needed repairs or unsafe conditions to supervisor.
7. Respond to guest requests, complaints, and deliver supplies to ensure guest satisfaction.
8. Minimize waste of supplies and amenities.
9. Deliver lost and found items following established procedures.
10. Assist with deep cleaning projects as assigned.
11. When assigned to laundry, monitor supplies and equipment, operate washers and dryers, inspect linens, and report damages.
12. Promote teamwork and effective communication with other shifts and management.
13. Ensure compliance with health and safety laws.
14. Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

1. Some previous housekeeping experience preferred.
2. Experience in extended stay industry preferred.
3. Fluent in English; additional languages beneficial.
4. Basic reading, writing, and math skills preferred.
5. Physical ability to stand, bend, climb, kneel, and move about the facility.
6. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
7. Use of commercial cleaning chemicals required.
8. Availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
