Job Description Summary

The House Attendant (HA) works with the Housekeeping Management Team to assist Room Attendants on assigned floors or buildings by collecting dirty linens and transporting them to the laundry area, delivering clean linens to Room Attendant carts, and retrieving trash throughout the hotel. They also assist with the commercial laundry function and/or the cleaning of public area spaces, exterior entrances, and parking lots. Additionally, they may be assigned special projects by the Housekeeping Manager.

Responsibilities

• Deliver on the promise of Sonesta Service in all interactions with guests and clients according to the Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards.
• Assist with heavy items such as mattresses and linens, delivering linens and supplies to Room Attendants.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of floor closets and corridors, including trash removal, wiping down shelves and counters, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors.
• Respond promptly to guest requests and report repairs or unsafe conditions.
• Clean designated areas such as public restrooms and storage rooms.
• Report damages and unsafe conditions to supervisors.
• Assist with deep cleaning projects and monitor laundry supplies and equipment when assigned to laundry duties.
• Operate laundry machines according to standards, inspect linens for damages, and fold/store clean linens.
• Promote teamwork and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping experience preferred, especially in the extended stay industry.
• Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English; other languages beneficial.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills preferred.
• Physical ability to stand, bend, climb, kneel, and move about the facility; lift up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, and handle commercial cleaning chemicals safely.
